From the Founder: Why I Built PoolPulse
PoolPulse wasn't created to be another club management platform. It was built to solve the operational challenges clubs face every day and help them become proactive instead of reactive.

When I started building PoolPulse, I wasn't trying to create another piece of club management software.
I was trying to solve a problem that I had seen firsthand for years.
The Problem I Kept Seeing
I had worked within the industry and spent countless hours learning how club management platforms operated behind the scenes. I saw the challenges these companies faced, the technical limitations they inherited, and the realities of maintaining software that had been built over decades.
To be clear, most of those systems were built the way they were for a reason.
When many of them were created, modern cloud platforms didn't exist. Automation tools were limited. The technology available at the time forced difficult compromises.
But as I spent more time working with clubs, I kept coming back to the same thought:
'There has to be a better way.'
The clubs themselves deserved better.
They deserved software they could trust.
They deserved software that worked with them instead of against them.
They deserved a platform built around how clubs actually operate today.
Building PoolPulse From the Ground Up
So I started building.
At the time, there was no large team.
There were no investors.
There was no roadmap handed to me by a board of directors.
There was just me sitting at a computer, researching, planning, designing, and building.
Every screen.
Every workflow.
Every database model.
Every process.
I spoke with club operators, managers, board members, and staff. I studied how clubs handled memberships, billing, reservations, communications, reporting, and day-to-day operations.
One thing became immediately clear.
Most clubs spend their time reacting.
They're busy running events.
Helping members.
Managing facilities.
Handling staff.
Answering questions.
Trying to keep everything moving.
That means small operational gaps often go unnoticed.
A missed renewal.
An unused guest pass.
An unpaid balance.
An overlooked opportunity to engage a member.
Individually, none of these seem significant.
Collectively, they add up.
It's death by a thousand paper cuts.
Small inefficiencies slowly draining time, revenue, and resources.
Why We Call It PoolPulse
I wanted PoolPulse to solve those problems before they became problems.
That's why we call it PoolPulse.
A pulse tells you how healthy something is.
A pulse helps you identify issues before they become emergencies.
A pulse gives you visibility into what is happening beneath the surface.
That philosophy became the foundation of everything we built.
PoolPulse was designed to help clubs become proactive instead of reactive.
To surface issues before revenue is lost.
To highlight opportunities before they are missed.
To give club leaders the information they need to make decisions quickly and confidently.
Building for Security and Reliability
As development continued, another principle became incredibly important to me: security.
Before entering the software industry, I served as a Cryptographic Systems Technician in the United States Marine Corps, where I held a Secret Security Clearance.
That experience fundamentally shaped how I think about technology.
Security should never be an afterthought.
It should never be something bolted on later.
It should be part of the foundation.
As PoolPulse grew, we built security, reliability, and transparency into the platform from day one.
The infrastructure was designed for scalability.
Automation was built into nearly every operational process.
Monitoring, controls, and safeguards became part of the architecture rather than future projects.
Today, much of the platform operates automatically behind the scenes, allowing clubs to focus on their members rather than the technology.
The Team Behind PoolPulse
But perhaps the thing I am most proud of isn't the software.
It's the people.
PoolPulse is no longer just a project.
It is a team.
A small but incredibly talented group of people who care deeply about what we are building.
We challenge each other.
We collaborate.
We debate ideas.
We improve concepts together.
The best ideas do not come from one person.
They come from a team that trusts one another enough to build something collectively.
That culture is one of the things I am most proud of.
The Mission Hasn't Changed
PoolPulse is still growing.
There is still a tremendous amount we want to build.
New features.
New capabilities.
New ways to help clubs operate more efficiently.
But the mission remains exactly the same as the day I started.
- Build software that clubs can trust.
- Help organizations operate more efficiently.
- Create opportunities for growth.
- Give clubs access to the same level of technology that larger organizations enjoy without forcing them to pay enterprise-level prices.
We are just getting started.
And I couldn't be more excited about what comes next.
Thank you to every club, every supporter, every team member, and every person who believed in this vision.
The future of PoolPulse is bright, and we're honored to be building it together.
Become a Founding PoolPulse Club
While PoolPulse is now publicly available, we are still in the early stages of our launch journey.
That means we have a unique opportunity to work closely with a small group of clubs that want to help shape the future of the platform.
We are currently accepting applications for our Founding Club Program.
At the time of writing, only two Founding Club spots remain available.
This program is designed for clubs that are ready for something better and want direct access to the team building the software they use every day.
What Founding Clubs Receive
Custom Development
Every club operates a little differently. As a Founding Club, you'll have direct input into the future of PoolPulse, and we'll work closely with you to identify operational challenges and opportunities.
One Year Free
Founding Clubs receive a full year of PoolPulse at no cost. There is no pressure to immediately leave your current platform.
Lifetime Founding Club Pricing
Founding Clubs receive a special grandfathered pricing plan that remains in place for as long as they remain on the platform.
Is Your Club a Good Fit?
We're looking for clubs that want to be active participants in shaping the future of club management software.
If your organization struggles with disconnected systems, manual processes, operational inefficiencies, or lost revenue opportunities, we'd love to talk with you.
If you're interested in becoming a Founding Club, email us at pilot@poolpulse.io and tell us a little about your organization.
We'll review your application and schedule a conversation to determine whether the program is the right fit for both sides.
We believe the future of club management should be built alongside the clubs that use it every day.
We'd be honored to build that future together.
